Sens Recap: Back in the Win Column
The Sens pulled off a 4-3 win over the Sabres last night however the score doesn't tell the whole story as the Senators outplayed the Sabres for most if not all of the game.
The Senators regained their offensive touch with 4 goals on the night thanks to Erik Karlsson (as always), Chris Phillips, Alfie and Chris Neil who had the winner. Mika Zibanejad played really well again, and his line with Turris and Alfredsson looked great all night. Zbad played an agressive forecheck and allowed Turris and Alfredsson to focus on creating the offense as trailers in the play, as seen on the Alfredsson goal. Zibanejad looked great on that shift and showed some soft hands on a pass to Alfredsson in the slot.
The Stephane Da Costa experiement wasn't amazing as he saw limited ice time, but he did not look like he was playing safe at all as he was actively trying to create offense when he did get on the ice, you can just tell he has tons of skill. One positive with the Da Costa thing was that it appeared to motivate Peter Regin. He had a monster game picking up 2 assists including a gorgeous play and pass on the Chris Neil winner. Hopefully he can keep up that pace.
Other than that, lets hope teams keep playing their back up goalies against us cause they all see to suck. (Shut up Dan Ellis.)
