Whats the deal with officiating?

The Senators losing skid extended to 5 games after a shitty night in Tampa Bay. The Senators played pretty good outshooting the Tampa Bay Gatorades  but not managing to beat former super tall Senator Ben Bishop enough. The big story of the game was fans and players and everyone pretty much complaining about officiating. Dan O'rourke (he of the "Karlsson is a diver" thinking) called a illegal hand pass on Peter Regin in the faceoff dot giving the Lightning a 2 man advantage for 1:58 which lead to a Tampa goal and an unraveling of the Sens. Replays clearly showed that Regin won the faceoff with his STICK and that O'Rourke made the call from the opposite end of the rink. You would think the guy DROPPING THE FUCKING PUCK would have a better angle on that call. Anyways everyones pissed.

Im also pissed but more about the fact that Matt Kassian has barely been a healthy scratch since joining the club despite the fact that he is a horrible hockey player. With the recent call-up of Jean-Gabriel Pageau from Binghamton I thought this meant the end of the Kassian experiment. This morning I wake to find that Ian Mendes has reported that Kassian will be on a line with Neil and Smith and that Regin and JOB will be a scratch for Pageau. So I guess Kassians inability to play hockey has earned him an audition on the thrid line. Yikes. Either that or Neil and Smith will only play about 5 minutes tonight which I am ok with cause Neil sucks and Smith can't hit the net and refrain himself from taking bad penalties.

This losing streak is really bringing out the ANGRY in AngrySensFan. AAAARRRRGHHHHHH!

Anyways Sens play tonight in Philly because we never get to play on Saturday nights, those are reserved for Leafs only apparently. Actually the Senators are only on HNIC 8/19 Saturdays all year. Penguins and Bruins and Red Wings are each on 3 times this year wtf????

Anyways we play Philly tonight Lehner starts Pageau is in Michalek is still out Cowen is getting closer to returning and Briere the Sens killer is out for Philly. Enjoy

As my friend AngryHabsFan eluded to already, yesterday was the end of the world as we know it for Sens fans. Matt Cooke's skate caught Karlsson in the Achilles tendon last night on a scuffle in the corner. First off don't even think that this was Matt Cooke being a dirty player and that he did this on purpose. It was just one of those freak plays that happen. No timeline has been given yet for Karlsson's return but I think its safe to say that he won't be back this season. Hopefully he can return from this injury and still be a great player. We already have Michalek playing on robotic knees so hopefully EK can get a hold of Milo's doctor. Speaking of Michalek he also disappeared before the game last night with a mysterious undisclosed injury. No word on what exactly is the extent of his injury yet. So without Spezza, Michalek, Karlsson and Jared Cowen I think its safe to say we are fucked and need to focus on shipping out Gonchar at the deadline and going

AHF NHL Playoff Bracket

With the March Madness NCAA Basketball tournament starting up tomorrow, people all over North America and abroad are filling out their brackets.  Even President Obama gets in on the action each year. Though my knowledge in sports lies pretty much in the world of hockey, I've been attempting brackets for the past six years.  This year my final four are: Kentucky, Syracuse, Missouri, and North Carolina. When it comes to the NHL nobody gets excited and fills out an NHL playoff bracket.  I am here to change that today. Since my creative juices are lacking in humour during this dismal time in Montreal, I thought I'd throw together an NHL bracket of my own based on the NHL Playoffs matches that would be happening if the season ended last night.
