Cory Conacher in Bishop Out

The Sens traded Ben Bishop today for 2nd in rookie scoring, Cory Conacher as well as getting a 4th rd pick in the trade. Most people believe that this was a slam dunk trade for Bryan Murray and that Yzerman got ripped off. I'm reserving judgement until I see if we get the Conacher from earlier in the year or the Conacher thats put up 6pts in his last 16 games.

Goodbye to ye old Bishop we hardly new ye. He played really well for us and I'm sure will be a decent starting goaltender in Tampa, despite getting hung out to dry by his defence night after night.

With this trade, Yzerman has now traded 2 2nd rd picks and a third for Lindback, realized he wasnt that good and then traded their best prospect and a 4th for Bishop. Yikes thats a lot a picks for a team thats rebuilding.

Also Redden got traded to the Bruins and will play with Zdeno Chara again. Lol wait until the Bruins have to choose between them.

As my friend AngryHabsFan eluded to already, yesterday was the end of the world as we know it for Sens fans. Matt Cooke's skate caught Karlsson in the Achilles tendon last night on a scuffle in the corner. First off don't even think that this was Matt Cooke being a dirty player and that he did this on purpose. It was just one of those freak plays that happen. No timeline has been given yet for Karlsson's return but I think its safe to say that he won't be back this season. Hopefully he can return from this injury and still be a great player. We already have Michalek playing on robotic knees so hopefully EK can get a hold of Milo's doctor. Speaking of Michalek he also disappeared before the game last night with a mysterious undisclosed injury. No word on what exactly is the extent of his injury yet. So without Spezza, Michalek, Karlsson and Jared Cowen I think its safe to say we are fucked and need to focus on shipping out Gonchar at the deadline and going

Where did a decade go? I remember this game, and basically being on my knees throughout most of it.  When Laich scores the late goal in the 3rd I almost hurled, and then on top of that we take a penalty! The ride Halak gave us in 2010 will never be matched!  41 saves in a Game 7! No idea how Sportsnet isn't airing this one tonight!?  I'm surprised they aren't airing random 2016 Blue Jays baseball games instead. I don't need 80s and 90s game all week.  Mix in some modern classics like this!
