Prustie Returns To NYC

Big headline today is the return of Brandon Prust to Madison Square Garden after ditching his old team for more money and a longer contract in Montreal.

Back to back games during the week is kind of a rip off.  The beauty of sport is the build up to the event.  The NFL has it perfect with basically playing the majority of their games only on Sundays and not during the week.  Sunday becomes football day and you are locked to the television.  My ideal nights for hockey to be on is Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday.  But instead of being a crotchy old man I'll let it go and realize that this is a shortened season.

Habs are 2nd in the Eastern Conference and on a four game winning streak.  Wow, that feels really good to say.  Habs are 2nd in the Eastern Conference and on a four game winning streak! Yes!!!!

But you know who else is really good at hockey lately?  The New York Rangers, even though they are in 8th place they are a smoking hot club right now.  They have an amazing goalie and we just played last night at home.  It's pretty much a recipe for disaster.  I don't really have high expectations for tonight, but if the Habs can even steal a point then it's worth the trip to New York.

Tonight we're upping the anti since last nights Kate Upton photos were a traffic gold mind for us here at Angry Hockey Fans.  If your Habs score 5 goals against the Rangers we will post photos of beautiful women covered in ice cream.  We haven't even checked to see if these photos exist, but it's the internet and it's safe to say we can deliver if the Habs deliver.

As my friend AngryHabsFan eluded to already, yesterday was the end of the world as we know it for Sens fans. Matt Cooke's skate caught Karlsson in the Achilles tendon last night on a scuffle in the corner. First off don't even think that this was Matt Cooke being a dirty player and that he did this on purpose. It was just one of those freak plays that happen. No timeline has been given yet for Karlsson's return but I think its safe to say that he won't be back this season. Hopefully he can return from this injury and still be a great player. We already have Michalek playing on robotic knees so hopefully EK can get a hold of Milo's doctor. Speaking of Michalek he also disappeared before the game last night with a mysterious undisclosed injury. No word on what exactly is the extent of his injury yet. So without Spezza, Michalek, Karlsson and Jared Cowen I think its safe to say we are fucked and need to focus on shipping out Gonchar at the deadline and going

This Is It

LOSER Tonight and this afternoon will be an outright cluster&@$^.  I can't even begin to try to calculate who we are going to end up playing in the first round.  If we lose tonight it will be the Leafs, simple as that.  If we win and Boston loses their game to Washington then things will get interesting tomorrow night in the finale game of Ottawa vs Boston.  So basically win for drama and lose to play the Leafs.   My heart says lose and sweep the Leafs out in the first round for what would be revenge for every Saturday night game of my childhood living in Ontario.  My sensible self says win and end up playing an easier team seeded way lower than us.  It is going to be an interesting 40 hours ahead.  Oh, and if we draw the Sens in the first round I'd be all over some tickets, so kinda hoping for that too. Gametime is 7PM on CBC. Go Habs Go!
