Schneider To Redem Himself In Net Against Wild

The Canucks will look to beat the Minnesota Wild tonight in the first of four meetings between the two teams in this 48 game season.  The Canucks will have much harder of a game against the Wild this season as compared to seasons before with the new acquisitions this year of Ryan Suter and Zach Parise.  The wild have been playing fairly well to start this season off which was expected of them this year.

The big story of tonight's game is that unlike the last few games Cory Schneider will start in net tonight for the first time since the start of the season.  It was observed by Cory's agent last week that he was very worried about the amount of playing time that he would get in the next couple of weeks due to the great play of Luongo in his past 4 or 5 starts.  The only reason that would explain the start for Schneider is that Luongo has not played well against the Wild in his career only recording 3 wins and a whopping 9 overtime losses in 14 games.

Although the wild are in the playoffs as of yesterday they are probably not too happy with the offense they have been getting from their top guys like Heatley.  The wild will juggle their lines tonight and likely have Heatley on the second line with Bouchard.  Parise has been real hot as of late with six goals in the first nine games of this season.

If the Canucks come out with a W tonight and Schneider has a good game then the controversy over who will start in net will likely heat up again and could possibly be a non needed distraction as the Canucks look to make the playoffs this year and hopefully be in good shape to win the cup.

Best thing for the team right now is to lose tonight and put an end to who is going to be the starting goalie. The focus is on the back end and not the rest of the team. It causes a rift in the room.

The Canucks badly need to make a trade much like Montreal did when it was Huet and Price and they made the right choice when at the time it seemed stupid. Keep Cory, Trade Roberto. It will pay off.
