THIS IS IT

I have never been to a game at the Bell Centre.  I have never been to an NHL playoff game....until tonight.

 Today I travel to Montreal for the first time in seven years almost to the day. The last time I was in the city a guy by the name of Halak was tearing up the playoffs.  

 I've attended a handful of Habs games over the years in Ottawa, mostly losses.  I can't even begin to imagine what tonight is going to be like.  For me as a Habs fan, and as a sports fan, tonight might be the greatest night of my life (if the Habs win).

 I'm so ready to experience the Bell Centre first hand during the playoffs.  Plus today is a holiday so fans have extra time to get rowdy before the game.

 Puck drops at 7:10...I drop in Montreal shortly before 5 PM.  

 Time to hit the road.

AHF NHL Playoff Bracket

With the March Madness NCAA Basketball tournament starting up tomorrow, people all over North America and abroad are filling out their brackets.  Even President Obama gets in on the action each year. Though my knowledge in sports lies pretty much in the world of hockey, I've been attempting brackets for the past six years.  This year my final four are: Kentucky, Syracuse, Missouri, and North Carolina. When it comes to the NHL nobody gets excited and fills out an NHL playoff bracket.  I am here to change that today. Since my creative juices are lacking in humour during this dismal time in Montreal, I thought I'd throw together an NHL bracket of my own based on the NHL Playoffs matches that would be happening if the season ended last night. This Is It

LOSER Tonight and this afternoon will be an outright cluster&@$^.  I can't even begin to try to calculate who we are going to end up playing in the first round.  If we lose tonight it will be the Leafs, simple as that.  If we win and Boston loses their game to Washington then things will get interesting tomorrow night in the finale game of Ottawa vs Boston.  So basically win for drama and lose to play the Leafs.   My heart says lose and sweep the Leafs out in the first round for what would be revenge for every Saturday night game of my childhood living in Ontario.  My sensible self says win and end up playing an easier team seeded way lower than us.  It is going to be an interesting 40 hours ahead.  Oh, and if we draw the Sens in the first round I'd be all over some tickets, so kinda hoping for that too. Gametime is 7PM on CBC. Go Habs Go!
